From Waste to Impact
Grapefruit Hits 63% Recycling Rate
Over the past four years, we’ve made significant strides in improving how waste is managed across our operations, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability and measurable progress. By rethinking our processes and prioritising responsible disposal, we’ve worked to transform waste from a by-product into an opportunity for positive environmental impact. This journey reflects our broader ambition to operate more consciously, with sustainability embedded into our everyday decision-making. A key milestone in this progress is achieving a 63% recycling rate, highlighting the effectiveness of our improved sorting systems and waste management practices. Alongside this, we continue to focus on reducing general waste output and increasing the proportion of materials that can be reused or recycled. Through these initiatives, we’re not only reducing our environmental footprint but also setting a strong example of how consistent, long-term action can drive meaningful change.
The Challenge
Like many organisations, we faced the challenge of managing large volumes of waste while minimising our environmental footprint. Our existing systems limited visibility over waste streams and reduced the potential for effective recycling, making it difficult to drive meaningful improvement.
The Solution
To address this, we introduced enhanced waste segregation processes and clearer systems for managing recyclable materials. By refining our internal practices and encouraging more responsible behaviours across our teams, we significantly improved how waste is handled on a day-to-day basis.
The Results
These changes have delivered tangible outcomes, most notably achieving a 63% recycling rate. We have also reduced general waste and increased the volume of materials successfully diverted from landfill.
The Impact
Our progress demonstrates how consistent, focused action can lead to substantial environmental benefits. By embedding sustainability into our operations, we continue to reduce our impact while setting a benchmark for responsible waste management within our sector.
